Description

A slow race on the Peace River in Punta Gorda, Florida.
Racing in light air takes skill and patience. This one design fleet may have been frustrated by the lack of wind, while trying to round the red course marker. But I was glad it was possible to get a picture with a cell phone from a slow- moving power boat.
In one design racing, all boats are virtually identical or similar in design. Class-legal boats race each other without handicap calculations. All start at the same time and the winner is the first to cross the finish line.
One design class fleets are usually found at yacht clubs, sailing centers and other organizations.
