Description

African Violet and Buds. In my grandmother's day, I remember that African violets were the most common indoor house plant, adorning tabletops and window sills. It is still “America’s Favorite Houseplant,” according to The African Violet Society of America (AVSA). This is the first bloom I have had on this plant. Saintpaulia is a genus of herbaceous perennial flowering plants in the family Gesneriaceae, native to Tanzania and Kenya in eastern tropical Africa.
