Description
I waited until everyone was out of the way to get this shot. The Giants Causeway or Clochán an Aifir in County Antrim is a UNESCO world heritage site, a promontory of basalt columns along 4 miles (6 km) of the northern coast of Northern Ireland. About 40,000 of these stone pillars with five to seven irregular sides, jut out of the cliff face. In one spot steps lead into the sea. Giants Causeway To The Sea shows the unusual basaltic formation making a causeway out to the Atlantic ocean. The Giant’s Causeway is the aftermath of volcanic activity 60-million years ago leaving a legacy these interlocked basalt columns. The most popular natural scenic wonder in Northern Ireland, this mind-boggling beauty was once explained by a myth about a giant.

Fantastic capture - when I was there a few years back it was crowded with people - you did well to get such a clear and calm shot. An amazing place! l/f

Excellent capture! The wind was howling and the stones were covered with sea foam when we visited! Looks like you had lovely weather!

I have always wanted to see this place - images like yours will have to do, I guess. It's amazing. Love the lines from your perspective and the repeated similar shapes of the column tops - great natural graphic design.

Fabulous POV and quite the task to shoot 'peopleless' Barbie! Rained like heck when I was there...
