Description
The gallant lady, a small freighter, sailed out of Belize City toward Bimini and was smashed ashore against the rocks during Hurricane Mitch in 1997. At that time she sported a white wheel house and bridge. Now none of her superstructure is left to see. The tragic shipwreck in Alice Town, North Bimini, Bahamas is helpless against the salt water and waves. Year by year there is even less of her hull. The beautiful blue sky and gorgeous turquoise waters look so tranquil and harmless now, and such gentle, puffy, swooping clouds! Find this watery grave by walking behind a cemetery.
This view brings to mind an old Breton fisherman's prayer: “O God, thy sea is so great and my boat is so small.”
