Description
Welcome to the inner courtyard of the parroquia or parish church of San Miguel/St. Michael the Archangel, which is the representative icon of the beautiful colonial city of San Miguel de Allende, in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. A UNESCO world heritage site, it is in the Plaza Principal, where a church first was built in the mid 1500s. Between 1880 and 1890, master stonemason Don Zeferino Gutierrez built a new facade according to one of the artistic styles of the time, inspired by the great architectural works of Gothic style in Medieval Europe.
