Description
This beautiful neo-baroque structure houses the The Central University Library of the University of Bucharest. Universitatea din București was founded in 1864, so it is the second oldest modern university in Romania. In the 2012 QS World University Rankings, it was included in the top 700 universities of the world. On the left is the equestrian statue of Carol I, the Romanian liberator of Ottoman occupation.
