When in Rome...enjoy the various ancient styles of architecture. These Corinthian Roman columns support upper supporting arches. The Corinthian order is the last developed of the three principal classical orders of ancient Greek and Roman architecture. The first was the Doric order, then the Ionic. The Corinthian is the most ornate, characterized by slender fluted columns and elaborate capitals decorated with acanthus leaves and scrolls. "Corinthian" comes from the ancient Greek city of Corinth, although the style had its own model in Roman practice. This original square format travel photo is filtered and shown in black and white to accentuate the aging. There is another version as a card for new home buyers. :)
