Description
How did old leather come to look almost iridescent?! Another odd thing--The remaining patch of hair on this aqua colored old leather reminds me of a map.
Oilskin leggings or chaps helped keep sailors and fisherman dry. An oilskin needed to be oiled to make it a waterproof garment, and fish oil was very fragrant-- you might say stinking!! Oilskins were also worn by fish-plant workers and others in cold, wet environments.
This mottled greenish semiabstract is a close-up of the old vintage leather garment on display in an Icelandic museum.
Scenic Iceland is a dream come true for a location scout, a classroom for a geologist, a paradise for the nature lover or outdoor person. The natural beauty ranges from fjords to glaciers to geothermal wonders.
