Description
Sleepy Bird- There's a Nap for That shows a black and white version of a sleepy macaw in his cage in a Caribbean island tourist restaurant. Tired of the attention from the day-trippers and paparazzi, he merely closes his eyes. Macaws are long-tailed, colourful New World parrots. Six of the Psittacidae genera are classified macaws: Ara, Anodorhynchus, Cyanopsitta, Primolius, Orthopsittaca, and Diopsittaca.
Macaws, the largest parrots in the world, are king-sized members of the parrot family Their large, strong, curved beaks are designed to crush nuts and seeds. The body of the scarlet macaw from beak to tail can be as long as 33 inches.
Macaws are native to Central America (especially Mexico), South America, and formerly the Caribbean. Most species prefer forests, especially rainforests, but others prefer woodland or savannah-like habitats. Large beaks, long tails, and relatively bare, light-coloured, medial (facial patch) areas distinguish macaws. A macaw's facial feather pattern is as unique as a fingerprint.

Love this in black and white. The striking colors of the parrot set off nicely in b&w. L&F
