Rare surviving dual engine 1961 Sahara Desert Utility Vehicle by Citroen, from the Collier Collection, displayed at the REVS Institute. Twin horizontally-opposed two-cylinder air-cooled engines, 425 ccs, 12 bhp at 5300 rpm. Andre Citroen, founder of the famous avant-garde French car workshops was a revolutionary within the automotive industry.
Born in 1878 to a wealthy diamond Dutch merchant, he attended the Polytechnical school in Paris to become an engineer. After working for Mors he founded Andre Citroen & Cie in 1905.
