Description
At a hibiscus show, amateur and commercial growers compete for prizes with single, double or miniature blooms from their new varieties. When seeds are collected from the pod from a cross-pollinated hybrid plant, each seed will produce a genetically different plant with its own set of characteristics.
This colorful pink and red bloom was shot at a Florida hibiscus show. Hibiscus, also called Chinese Hibiscus, Japanese Lantern, Rose of Sharon, and Tropical Hibiscus, are large shrubs or small trees that produce large, colorful, five-petaled flowers over a long season. This blossom has been digitally abstracted.
