The beautiful Parroquia de Nuestra Senora de Dolores, dating from 1710 in Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, Mexico was the cradle of Mexican independence. Here Don Miguel Gregorio Antonio Ignacio Hidalgo-Costilla y Gallaga Mandarte Villaseñor, commonly known as Father Hidalgo, gave "El Grito de Dolores" to his congregation, signaling the beginning of the Mexican War of Independence.
