For homes, spas or waiting rooms that can't afford the time or expense of aquariums and their maintenance. Seriously, send in the clownfish! These anemonefish are of the family Pomacentridae. subfamily Amphiprioninae Thirty species are recognized, one in the genus Premnas, all others in the genus Amphiprion. In the wild, they all form symbiotic mutualisms with sea anemones. Depending on species, Clownfish are overall yellow, orange, or a reddish or blackish color, and many show white bars or patches. These fishes usually range in size from 4 to 7 inches. Clownfish were popularized by Finding Nemo, a 2003 American computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film by Andrew Stanton, released by Walt Disney Pictures, and produced by Pixar Animation Studios. It tells of an overprotective clownfish named Marlin searching for his abducted son, Nemo, all the way to Sydney Harbour. Dad or Marlin learns to take risks and let little Nemo take care of himself.
