Description
A fumarole is hot stuff -- and smelly! Technically, it is a vent in the earth's surface which releases steam and volcanic gases. They do not smell lovely. This one is near Namaskard, in the Myvatn area of Iceland.

Great find and capture! Reviving memories of making hydrogen sulfide in Chemistry in my schooldays with a teacher who stubbornly refused to open the lab windows!
