Description
Cowboys and cowgirls protect their heads from the heat and sun with straw hats that breathe. When the southern cowpokes from Florida and Texas go inside, they respectfully take their hat off and hang it up, and address others as sir or mam. They say home is where you hang your hat. I hope your home is where you hang my art! Enjoy all the decorative variations on this theme.

Hi Barbie, I like this photo, the idea in it. :) But, in my eyes there is something with the photopainting that makes it a bit too unreal, meaning this photo could be better without photopainting, the natural photo and just a few light or color enhancement? Tina's comment below is a good one, I learn from it too. All my best, I do love your images very much.

Hi Barbie, I like the image but some may find it to monotone in color and the resolution at 100% percent is not very high which does make a difference in the quality and available sizes, when it comes to digital art you can always increase the resolution before painting and view at full resolution to see the results before you load the image:)

To me the image appears flat and there is no life in it. The hat is too central and have this feeling that I'm falling into the image.

Barbie, I agree with Nina. I definitely like #3 more than the others. I know in #3 you have done what looks like posterization. You might try a more specific vintage texture and shading with it instead of the poster effect to put it over the top. This one looks a wee bit too artificial for my taste.

Hi Barbie, based on our new discussion thread in the 200 Club, I'll start first. I think that in this image of the hat the hat is too muted in texture. It appears too flat this way. I love the background, but there is not enough contrast between the textures of each. My favourite version in this series is Cowboy Hangs it Up 3.
