Description
This pitcher plant, a carnivorous specimen, is on display in Balboa Park in San Diego, California. Foraging, flying or crawling insects such as flies are attracted into the cupped leaf . Pitcher plants attract their prey by visual lures such as pigments or nectar. Most pitcher plants belong to the Nepenthaceae and Sarraceniaceae families. Balboa Park, named for Spanish maritime explorer Vasco Nunez de Balboa, is one of the oldest and best parks in the United States. I got the aquamarine background by asking my husband to crouch behind the pitcher.

This is just great Barbie, The colour of the background not only makes the plant pop but also look surreal. Great shot and my nomination for a Special Feature in the 1000 Views On 1 Image Group, Wendy
