Strikingly dark! Hollyhocks are alcea, a genus of about 60 species of flowering plants in the mallow family Malvaceae native to Asia and Europe and popular in gardens worldwide. This unusual dark stalk was shot in a private garden in Russia by award winning photographer Barbie Corbett-Newmin.
