Anhinga Measuring Alligator

Anhinga Measuring Alligator

Description
It looks as if this anhinga sitting on a cypress knee is checking out the competition! The wingspan of an anhinga is no match for the length of the alligator. Actually, the anhinga or snakebird is more likely making sure its feathers are dry enough to fly away from the dangerous reptile! Nature photo taken during a trail walk at Audubon Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary in Southwest Florida by Barbie Corbett Newmin with a Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS20.
